Latex Paint RULES!!!
I believe I am a pretty good painter....not paint as in Picasso, but paint as in Sherwin Williams. I am proud of the fact that I never spill and rarely drip (small drips can be easily cleaned up with baby wipes anyway) when painting. So, the girl who doesn't use drop clothes and only sometimes changes into old clothes before tackling a painting job made the mother of all mistakes today.
I don't even recall exactly how it happened--whether I bumped the ladder or what--but I spilled white paint all over the living room carpet!!!! After 2 seconds of total and complete shock I grabbed the phone and frantically asked Paul to come home for lunch (since the ladder falling had woken Alia up (I was envisioning her screaming while I tried to clean paint out of the carpet before it dried). Anyway, as soon as I hung up from Paul (who graciously and quickly agreed to come home), I looked online for "how to get paint out of carpet" and the first site I googled gave me easy steps. 30min. later the carpet looked like it never happened--although it is still wet!
The casualties were the shirt and pants I was wearing--bummer they had to be the ones I like best!
So, I learned one lesson and another that I already knew was reinforced.....
1. ALWAYS wear paint clothes
2. Pride goes before a fall (or maybe a spill) :)
